Re:WAN and LAN ports not working. If you have not done so, connect your PC direct to the modem via an Ethernet cable to check the connection from the ISP. to check your modem, and to check the PC as lighting could have also affected the modem, the PC, and even the line from the ISP. If all is good then back to the router.
Solution. #4. The secret is the lan ports in a router are actually a small switch. Many routers still have a separate chip that is pretty much the same as you find in small switches. So if you are connecting the ap to the main router via lan port it is the same as if you had a switch. Routers that have a AP mode convert the WAN port to a lan port.
There might be some cases that CenturyLink might not work on the line from the main junction box to the modem. The main junction box is where the underground or aerial lines interfaces to the house wiring. Plug the Ethernet cables into the centurylink router.

After rebooting, plug the modem/router into the power adaptor, and check whether there is a green light above the WAN and the LAN ports. Note that the ethernet port not working issue will happen even if only one port is not working. How to Test Cables Without Tester. Testing an ethernet cable without a tester is easy. Check out the helpful tips
Just a couple of thoughts off the top of my head. You may also want to reset the configuration on the router to factory defaults incase maybe somehow the settings got configured in a manner prior to your ownership. Other than that, we can narrow down the source of the problem: If all the ports on the nighthawk work, and the dell is still not

It fried the landlord's modem router combo, damaged my router. My symptoms were a lack of speed. I tested using my laptop at the port (his network jack) to see that speed was good. My WAN port on the modem was damaged and affected maximum speed being sent.
Remove the cable, then reconnect it to make sure it's connected properly. Make sure your network settings are correct. If you're not sure which settings to use, contact your ISP. Shut down your Mac, then turn off the Ethernet device. Wait a few minutes, then turn the Ethernet device back on. Wait until it has started up completely, then
On your router, make sure the Ethernet cable is plugged into the correct Ethernet port—not the Internet port that's used to connect your modem and router. If one Ethernet cable doesn't work and you have another one nearby, try the other Ethernet cable to see if that works. If it does, it might be a problem with the first cable.
IEEE 802.3bz, NBASE-T and MGBASE-T refer to standards for Ethernet over twisted pair at speeds of 2.5 Gbit/s and 5 Gbit/s. This represents intermediate speeds between Gigabit Ethernet and 10 Gigabit Ethernet. The resulting standards are named 2.5GBASE-T and 5GBASE-T. It is for future use.
The C7800 is a modem/router combo device and not just a modem device. (it can be set as modem only though but then only 1 port would work) the C7800's lan ports are just that, lan ports. You can connect devices to them. Current setup: CM2000-> RBE973S-> Trendnet TEG-S380-> GS716T-> pi-hole.
I just got a brand new C4000BG to replace my C3000A. Only replaced my C3000A due to some ethernet ports not working anymore. Upon finishing setup of the C4000BG I am receiving decent wireless on the 2.4G but absolutely terrible connection on the 5G. I have tried disabling 802.11ax, switching to 80mhz disabling the cyber security and still no
The ports are capable of delivering up to a gig, no matter what Comcast gives you from the WAN. You can make *inter-LAN* file transfers up to a gig. 0. 0. 1. 2. I have a new wireless gateway model TG4482A. Port 4 is marked with a red stripe and any device I connect to it shows as orange - amber light, which usually means a slower connection.
Here is how: Open Terminal (Applications > Utilities). Enter the following command and press enter: sudo ifconfig en0 down. Enter your password if asked. Then enter the following command and hit enter: sudo ifconfig en0 up. And then test to see if Ethernet is now working. Note: en0 is the name of wireless interface.

For routers with only one indicator/LED, you may check whether the device itself has detected the Ethernet connection or not. If yes, go to the next step. 2.Reboot both the device and the router. 3.Connect another device to the router using the same Ethernet cable on the same port.

If that's not an option, re-enable DHCP on router 1, then disable DHCP on router 2 and reconfigure it into bridge mode. Bridge mode will effectively disable the router part, leaving just switch and AP. Finally, you can just enable DHCP on router 1. This should get everything working, although such configuration comes with its share of problems
Verify you're using the provided yellow Ethernet cable and check the connections to the computer's Network Interface Card (NIC)/Ethernet port and the Ethernet port on the back of the Motorola modem. If another Ethernet (RJ-45) cable is available, swap out cables to make sure yours isn't defective. Make sure the cable isn't a crossover type cable.

First activity. 1 reply. I recently installed the grey 5G Home Internet gateway at home. When I first got it three weeks ago, I was seeing speeds of 150+ down, and 50 up on both WiFi and ethernet. Now I am seeing roughly the same speeds over WiFi, but ethernet speeds have dropped to 10-15 down, sometimes as low as 5. Upload is around 15-20.
In this video tutorial, I'll be showing you the updated steps on how you can enable all LAN PORTS on your PLDT Home Fibr Router and how you can fix the no in
However it seems that wifi is still working just fine. Of course I've tried power cycling the router, using different cable and port combinations, and a factory reset but no luck. In the windows network connections screen I get "unidentified network" under ethernet and ipconfig looks like this on the three computers.
Netgear R7000. -WAN: Dynamic IP. -DHCP On. Connect the WAN of your router to any LAN port on the Modem. ----------. This way, all the 4 ports on you modem and well as router would be having internet. The devices connected to LAN port of the modem will have an IP address of 192.168.2.X series.
